Today we’re excited to publish the first of our monthly transparency reports. As we mentioned last week, we hope these will provide super useful insight into starting up a business, with details of marketing activities and how effective they are.
April 2016 Transparency Report
Last month we sent out two mailshot campaigns to marketing consultants. They had a good opening rate and lots of people clicked through to our website. We received a number of enquiries and after contacting them we ended up with 2 solid leads with which we are now discussing projects.
We signed up to Triberr last month, a website where you can join ‘Tribes’ of like-minded businesses and individuals who blog. The idea is to help share the great content you find there, and have more people share yours. Joining Triberr has really paid off when it comes to our Twitter reach, as you can see from the snapshot of stats below.
We also posted to Facebook, but still need to develop our presence on that platform further, so there isn’t anything to show you on that front! We had a bit more success on LinkedIn, gaining a couple of followers and clicks through to our website.
We also had some of our top suppliers undertake SEO (search engine optimisation) boosting activities for worxhub.co.uk to help us perform better in local searches, as well as generalist website development searches.
We started with local directory listings and a Google + local listing, so we now come up on the Google Map. Next we had a company create collateral such as press releases and blog posts to boost our link profile, and they also shared loads of our content on social media.
Ranking for ‘Worx’ will take a long time, as there are lots of companies with ‘Worx’ in their name, but we are now half way down the first page of results for ‘Worx website development’, and we expect this to improve as the activities take effect.
