Today we’re excited to publish our third monthly transparency report. As we mentioned last month, we hope these will provide super useful insight into starting up a business, with details of marketing activities and how effective they are.

A Growing Team Getting to Worx

doormat sunLast month Tash joined the team as our Office Manager / Master of Happiness and she has been doing sterling work. She has written two great blogs, one full of tips to boost employee happiness and one giving her view of happiness and it’s importance at work, home and in life in general. As well as working with our suppliers to ensure they are happy in their role at Worx, Tash has started working on our #HappinessIs campaign (which you will be hearing a lot more about next month!)

Brendan is also doing well. So far he’s delivered several warm leads and we are about to start work on one set of projects that he has brought in. Our new developers are settling in well and Iura is doing a great job as Lead Developer. We have 4 projects teetering on the edge of completion so you will be hearing about those next month.

At the end of May web dev Ben welcomed his gorgeous baby Hugo into the world so his role has now been adapted to fit having a newborn around! You will now find him doing stints managing our support system more than you will on the chunky development projects.

Website Performance

We have continued publishing blogs that help small businesses to utilise their websites and shared them widely across social media. Our efforts are continuing to show results and the hits to our website are creeping up.

Comparison between May and June 2016.

The graph below left shows where we acquired website visitors. As you can see, most are being driven to us through social media where we share (and pay to promote) our blog posts. Lots of people are coming to the website directly, closely followed by those being referred then those finding us using search engines (organic search.) All but the organic search figured are an improvement on last months.

The table on the left shows 7 of 10 landing pages (which is the first page someone visits – i.e. the one that brings them in) are blog posts, which backs up our post all about the business value in blogging and is improvement on the 5/10 score from last month.

 

 

Email Campaigns

We did one email campaign this month which created 3 good leads with 1 project due to start imminently. Next month we will send another email campaign out to see what happens, and continue with our plan to focus on developing more email campaigns and content to help our existing clients and those that sign up to receive our newsletter.

Social Media

We sent fewer Tweets this month and didn’t do as much Triberr sharing, so some of our Twitter stats are down on last month. We did gain followers and got more people mentioning us (due to Triberr) but need to tweet more next month to get the other stats back up again.

We have paid to promote posts on Facebook which has shown great results with increased reach and engagement.

 

Next month

We will continue to focus on what works. We will keep posting informative blogs to help our target market, sharing these on social media and paying to sponsor the posts to attain more reach and bring people on site. We will send out another mailshot, and continue building our newsletter content for our clients and those signed up to our newsletter.
